Winemaking Notes
Block 1 Pinot Noir was planted in 2001 to 3.5 acres of clones 667 amd 115 on well-drained gravelly loamy soils on one of the coldest sites on High Serenity Ranch. The very warm growing season of 2004 ripened the fruit earlier than typical vintages, but all things being equal the grapes reached full maturity, retained good acidity and developed excellent color extraction.
Tasting Notes
Luscious dark plum and dried cherry fruit aromas dominate the nose with nuances of vanilla, cherry and toasted oak. The wine is well structured with modest tannins and a good acid base.
