Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This vintage of Riesling is a modern take on a classic. Aromas such as honeysuckle flirt with peach, nectarine, and guava. All of its tropical goodness is wrapped in the brightness of lemon rind, and coated with butterscotch to give a creamy texture to the finish.
Vineyard Notes
The fruit for our Riesling comes from a single vineyard block on the valley floor of our High Serenity Vineyard. This block is comprised of gravelly, sandy loams and is located in one of the coolest vineyard sites in all of Lake County. The grapes were hand harvested at night and processed using minimal handling.
Production Notes
In a classic German Riesling style, we browned the juice purposefully to pull out phenolics. After settling, we racked clean, clear juice off the browned solids to start fermentation. Fermentation was undergone in stainless steel tanks. After pressing, the juice then underwent a cool fermentation by native yeasts. The Riesling was aged for 7 months in stainless steel and neutral oak barrels, with battonage stirring every three weeks to enhance mouthfeel and complexity.
Winemaker Notes
100% Riesling
