Pleasantly perfumed with aromas of orange blossom, white peach, and honeysuckle.
Lush sweetness is balanced by subtle spicy notes and juicy acidity. Our Moscato finishes
with a lasting lemon meringue like goodness. Delightful with fruity desserts, spicy dishes,
and complex cheses.
Vineyard Notes
The Volcano Ridge Vineyard is located on the steep slopes of an extinct cinder cone volcano at 2000-2200 feet above sea level. The pure volcanic soils, or “tephra”, are extremely well-drained and are ideal for vine stress and restricting crop yields resulting in concentrated and complex wines. Muscat happens to be one of the oldest grape varietals in the world, with over 2,000 years of existence. There are easily over 200 clones of Muscat and ours is the exotic Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains.
Production Notes
After a gentle pressing, the juice underwent a slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. We cut off the fermentation a little early to balance out the sugar to acid ratio, offering a delicious and refreshing example of this historic varietal.
