Brassfield Estate grown Chardonnay is produced from a unique block in High Serenity Ranch vineyard, situated in a west facing box canyon on the valley floor. We have just enough Chardonnay vines hidden throughout one of our Pinot Noir blocks to produce a limited number of cases. The soil in this block is comprised of ancient lakeshore and is one of the coolest in Lake County due to the marine breeze that funnels down the canyon throughout the spring and summer months. The lower temperatures on the valley floor allow for diurnal temperature swings of more than forty degrees, enhancing flavor development while the retaining a crisp acidity in the fruit.
