Densely aromatic, our 2023 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc offers a generous bouquet
of Granny Smith apple tangy grapefruit and white peach. The mouthfeel is lush
and creamy, with a complex and energetic palette offering Meyer lemon, custard
and apricot. It’s stunning already with a youthful appeal but is sure to improve
with a bit of time in the bottle.
Vineyard Notes
Our home ranch on the west side of the High Valley AVA has been known as “High
Serenity Ranch” for over one hundred years. The blocks planted to this idyllic site
include Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Gewurztraminer. Each block is
comprised of ancient lakebed and alluvial soils from the surrounding mountain range.
The transverse valley winds create some of the coolest sites in Lake County. The lower
temperatures on the valley floor allow for diurnal temperature swings of more than forty
degrees, enhancing flavor development while retaining a crisp acidity.

Winemaker Notes
We harvested our grapes early in the morning to ensure peak acidity and freshness
upon arrival to the winery. After gentle pressing, we allowed the juice to cold settle
overnight. The next day we racked the juice off heavy lees and transferred the juice
to ferment in a concrete vessel. Sur lie aging with battonage (lees stirring) once a
week in concrete creates additional body, texture and viscosity in the wine. This
wine was crafted from our finest vineyards, aged six months, fined and very lightly
filtered before bottling for maximum freshness and brilliant clarity.
